POST-PRODUCTION
It's only when we go into post production that all the visual ideas become reality. We bring all the raw footage together adding animation, graphics, special fx, sound and various other visual enhancement techniques such as 'grading' to tailor the programme to your exact requirements and give you the best possible quality production.
During the editing stages we work very closely with the client supplying proof copies on dvd or vhs at various stages to ensure that everything is coming together to your satisfaction.
Generic Pool carry out all post-production and editing on a top of the range Apple Mac based on-line digital non-linear editing system, this maintains the highest possible quality at all stages of editing. Because our system is fully digital it is a total non-destructive workflow with absolutely no generation loss whatsoever at any stage of the edit.
Our non-linear editing system consists of the following equipment:
Apple Macintosh Intel Quad Core MacPro loaded with 3GB of RAM and 4 x internal 500GB Enterprise professional hard drives. We also have various external hard drives, a 23-inch Apple Cinema display, a 24-inch Dell monitor, sound system with sub-woofer, Sony PDW-U1 professional XDCAM Optical Disc reader/writer and various other pieces of post-production equipment.
The software packages we use is as follows:
Apple Final Cut Studio suite, Logic Pro 7, Soundtrack Pro, Adobe Photoshop, Shake, Livetype, Motion, Compressor, Color, Bitvice, DVD Studio Pro and other relevant programmes.
My fees for editing and post work including encoding and DVD authoring are £400 per day.
